You are challenged by those all-too-familiar thoughts causing anxiety, depression, anger, and hopelessness. You have tried to shut out the thoughts using distraction, substances, positive affirmations, or any number of other behaviours that seem to only move you further away from your values and goals.
Perhaps you are facing a serious illness, or struggling with a change in a relationship, career, status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
You are ready to find your path to transform suffering into acceptance and meaning in a complicated and fast-paced world, but you aren't sure how.
I have effectively supported thousands of clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds in their search for emotional well-being during the most challenging of life situations.
I am a fully Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists
I bring my genuine, curious, and imperfect self into a safe and equal relationship. I have lived experience that informs my work without colouring it.

Whether at home, hospital, or hospice, I support clients from initial diagnoses to emotionally process and plan their deaths. I offer a holistic approach to provide psychoeducation and compassionate support to families. I enhance current support, such as palliative care medical teams and death doulas, or advocate for better palliative care, if necessary.
While death is a reality of our existence, dying is a process of the mind, body, and spirit that takes place during the very last chapter of life. Until the moment of physical death, we are alive and living. I support clients to live the life they desire until death.
The experience of loss, and its resulting grief, are at the root of many mental health challenges. Grief is triggered by countless types of significant loss and transitions. We live in a culture that generally prefers to deny grief and avoid mourning. We are expected to move on, buck up, and be 'strong'. However, it takes strength to face grief and process through it. We are not wired to rationalize ourselves through grief, and nobody can mourn alone.
I counsel clients of all ages, to learn how to mourn their significant losses fully and safely.
Change is inevitable. You easily adapt to some changes while others bring you to your knees. Life is so much more beautiful when experienced from your full height.
Whether you are finding it hard to adjust to a relationship change, retirement, a big move, COVID-19, or other transition, I offer understanding, non-judgement, respect, compassion, and confidentiality to all clients.
